HOME GARDENING PROGRAM

Every year during the week of Good Friday, we launch our Home Gardening Program to promote self-sufficiency. We encourage individuals and families to plant a home garden to supplement dietary needs.

Gardening and learning to grow your own food not only brings families together, but communities together as well. Watching your produce grow is exciting, rewarding and a way to provide healthy food for your family.

Qualified applicants will receive a $40.00 voucher, which may be used to purchase gardening seeds, vegetable plants and/or fertilizer from our participating Vendors; Marvin’s (Gadsden) and Farmtown (Boaz, AL).

To qualify for this program, we will need the following: Social Security cards of all household members, Picture ID of the head of household, total gross income for the household (SSI, SSDI, VA, check stubs, Child Support, etc.), and the food stamp allotment letter. These documents and verifications must be from the month prior to applicant’s appointment.

Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or if you would like more information regarding our services.
